The Terra Nova area is home to two significant ecological park sites, the Terra Nova Natural Area and the Terra Nova Rural Park (currently under construction/development).
Terra Nova Natural Area
This
old-field habitat is situated adjacent to the West Dyke Trail and
Sturgeon Banks, and is easily accessible from both the trail and the
west-end of Westminster Hwy. Featuring native plantings, viewing
platforms, pathways and a slough, this site provides habitat and food
to a variety of wildlife including raptors, herons and migrating birds.
